OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR LONGDRIVE-SA EVENTS

1. The event qualifying is open to all competitors- Professional, Amateur and Senior.
2. Professional and amateur competitors will compete in the same division with prizes being awarded to leading amateur based on the Long Drive Handicap System. Please note that a handicap can only be obtained after 4 separate competitive events have been completed.
3. Amateurs will only be permitted to win prizes on the day.
4. Seniors will win prizes on the day. There are no monetary Senior prizes at this time.
5. Prizes shall be paid/awarded in accordance with number of entries received per division.
6. Players are permitted to use only conforming drivers (list available on request or on www.usga.org.)
7. Competitors must declare Division and Amateur status before competing. Please note should you enter as a Professional your home club and the SAGA will be notified.
8. Competitors may enter as many times as possible, time permitting.
9. NO 12-ball sets will be permitted.
10. All equipment must not exceed the 50" total club length rule.
11. All club-heads must conform to USGA standards.
12. The grid will start at 240meters. Drives short of this will be estimated.
13. No alcohol may be consumed on the competition tee.
14. Competitors are required to dress appropriately at all times.
15. Competitors not conducting themselves in an acceptable manner will be removed from the event and their membership terminated without refund.

Sequence of Events

10h30- 14h30 Qualifying during the day per division- Amateur, Professional, Senior
14h30            Main Event to start (see details under events)
17h00     Prize giving

Should the day excessively well supported, entries to qualify may close as early as 13h00 due to time constraints. Should you not have entered by the time entries are closed you will unfortunately be unable to compete on the day.

Incentives

Cash Prizes will be on offer in the main event for:
1st Professional
2nd Professional

1st Amateur

2nd Amateur

1st Senior

2nd Senior 

 

Entry Fees

R40,00 is payable per 6 ball set.
R250,00 is payable to compete in the main event.
Membership is R600,00 entry fee and R600,00 per year from 1 January 2006 {pro rata rates apply}

Qualification

The top 4 actual distances will qualify to compete in the 16 competitor Main Event final commencing at the end of the day.

Exemptions

  • The Top 3 players on the LONGDRIVE-SA Order of Merit
  • One sponsors invite approved by official players representative
  • Only paid up members are permitted to compete in the main event. If you are not a member a membership form will be made available to you. Full payment in cash will allow you to compete in the main event.

Event Format

REMEMBER: YOU ARE REQUIRED TO BE A PAID UP MEMBER BEFORE COMPETING IN THE MAIN EVENT.

Participants are not required to be a member to compete in qualifying. Entries are open to the public. 

ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS SUBJECT TO CHANGE ON THE DAY. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE ALTERATIONS AS NECCESSARY.
